High tech in a car for the masses
From autumn 2008 the Tata Nano will come into the Indian market. This low priced "people's car" for less than 1,700 Euro was recently unveiled by the Tata Group in New Delhi. The new car is equipped with products of two companies of the Freudenberg Group.

Freudenberg Nonwovens takes over Italian filter manufacturer Spasciani Air Filter
As of 1st January 2008, Freudenberg Nonwovens has taken over the operations of the Spasciani Air Filter SpA in Milan. This takeover further expands Freudenberg Nonwovens' filter business and strengthens its operations in the European filter market.

FIAT Group gives ‘Qualitas Award’ to Freudenberg Nonwovens as one of their best suppliers
At its Global Supplier Conference in Torino, Italy, the FIAT Group has awarded the prestigious "Qualitas Award" to the Freudenberg Nonwovens Group as one of their best suppliers. Freudenberg was the only supplier of Original Equipment Service (OES) parts who received this coveted distinction. Freudenberg Nonwovens supplies cabin air filters to the FIAT Group, which also includes Lancia, Alfa Romeo Maserati, Iveco, Case, New Holland and FPT.

Tel Rad Cuyo and Freudenberg Nonwovens establish Joint Venture Company "Bicomfiber"
Tel Rad Cuyo S.A (TRC) and Freudenberg Telas Sin Tejer SA, subsidiary of Freudenberg Nonwovens, Weinheim/Germany, both of them located in Argentina have announced the launch of the new joint venture company called "Bicomfiber S.A.". The new company will produce different types of bi-component fibres for multiple purposes and applications.

Freudenberg Vliesstoffe KG invests in the wet-laid nonwovens facility in Neuenburg
Freudenberg Vliesstoffe KG will upgrade the existing wet-laid nonwovens facility at the Neuenburg site in the south of Baden and will invest funds in the amount of Euro 7 million in this upgrade. In the run-up to the investment decision, the company made a site agreement with the employee representatives which provides for a safeguarding of the existing jobs.

Freudenberg opens first plant in Russia
The Freudenberg Group has opened its first Russian plant in Zavolzhie, Nizhniy Novgorod region. The plant produces nonwoven backing for roofing membranes which have better insulation properties and a service life two to three times longer than that of the roofing boards used to date.
