micronAir cabin air filter is co-operation partner of Fiat's Green Check-Up program

April, 2009: Fiat Group Automobiles Parts & Services has chosen 22 April, Earth Day, to launch Green Check-Up, the new maintenance program reserved for Fiat Group Automobiles vehicles. Car owners have from today until 31 July to visit a Fiat, Lancia or Alfa Romeo service center in order to get specific check-ups to make their vehicles more environmentally friendly. All totally free of charge.

On this extraordinary day, celebrated in 175 countries around the world, the Fiat Group is confirming its focus on environmental protection and sustainable mobility. And that is not all. The new Green Check-Up service, which complements the seasonal safety programs Winter Check-Up and Summer Check-Up, will also have a positive impact in terms of energy conservation and extended vehicle life.

Consider that a perfectly functional ignition system can garner a 4% savings in fuel costs. By the same token, perfectly maintained tires last longer while also cutting consumption. Periodic lambda sensor checks (recommended every 30,000 km) reduce harmful emissions and increase efficiency. In addition, cabin filter check-ups protect against pollens, fine particles, ozone and harmful gases, while also acting as a valid preventative safety measure: for example, drivers who sneeze while travelling 100 km/h on the motorway experience limited visibility for 30 meters.

Freudenberg Filtration Technologies has a long and trusted partnership with FIAT by supplying the entire cabin air filter range for the European aftermarket business to the FIAT Group, which also includes Lancia, Alfa Romeo, Maserati and Iveco.

Stages of the Green Check-Up process:

Tire condition check-up

Ignition spark-plug check-up

Lambda sensor check-up

Cabin filter check-up

Exhaust gas missions check-up

Air filter and engine aspiration system check-up.

3) RELAXED IN HIGH GEAR More relaxation, lower emissions.
4) OFF TO A GOOD START Checking the ignition system is important. Malfunctioning can increase fuel consumption by 4%.
5) CUTTING HARMFUL GAS EMISSIONS Protect the environment by checking the efficiency of the lambda sensor.
6) FOCUSING ON HEALTH Our health in our vehicles is important. Keeping the cabin filter clean protects us from pollen, fine particles, ozone and harmful gases.
7) DISPOSING OF DISCHARGED BATTERIES If your battery is acting up, contact an authorized service center for an original replacement part and proper disposal.
